Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly capable Dual Trade Fitter & Electrician or Industrial Electrician with strong mechanical aptitude to join our maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and enjoys troubleshooting and improving high-speed automated equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
* An experienced Industrial Electrician with PLC and automation skills who is mechanically capable
* A qualified Dual Trade Fitter/Electrician with industrial and automation experience
* Background working in FMCG environments, ideally with high-speed packaging or processing equipment
Electrical & Automation
* Unrestricted Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence
* Strong electrical fault-finding capability, including contactors, relays, sensors, and field devices
* Experience programming and configuring:
o VFDs / drives
o Scanners
o Electronic control modules
* Proven ability to troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems
* Solid understanding of industrial controls (PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, instrumentation)
Mechanical & Maintenance
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair both electrical and mechanical faults
* Perform preventative maintenance and equipment audits
* Hands-on mechanical skills, including:
o Lubrication programs
o Belt tracking
o Replacing bearings, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes
o Experience maintaining mechanical and pneumatic systems
Continuous Improvement & Reliability
* Proactively work to reduce downtime, waste, and improve equipment reliability
* Identify improvement opportunities through:
o Fault investigation
o Root cause analysis
* Support and participate in maintenance and improvement projects
* Demonstrated problem-solving experience within an industrial maintenance environment

* Experience using computerised maintenance management systems
