We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Leader to join and lead our team at our newest Robotics Fulfillment Center opening in Craigieburn.
As the site lead for all engineering operations, you will manage a team of 50+ professionals, including Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Technicians (fitters and electricians), Planners, and Automation Engineers.
You will drive operational excellence, safety, and innovation while training, developing, and coaching your team. Your responsibilities will combine strategic leadership, team development, and hands‐on problem‐solving. You will collaborate with cross‐functional teams, mentor engineers, and ensure robotics systems operate at peak performance.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead the Maintenance team, own annual reporting responsibilities, and mentor direct reports.
* Partner with the site Safety & Site Leadership to implement, record, and audit safety and statutory compliance programs. Own legal responsibilities as the site engineering lead.
* Partner with the recruitment team to fill allocated headcount with high-quality, experienced staff. Support Apprentice and Graduate programs as needed.
* Implement standards validated by the AU Engineering team and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to create or update standards. Focus on preventative maintenance programs to deliver high levels of safety and equipment availability.
* Maintain equipment failure contingency plans and coordinate rehearsals with affected parties. Work flexibly to rectify failures or breakdowns quickly.
* Plan for future growth, upgrades, and new equipment rollouts by partnering with Site Management, Finance, the AU Engineering team, and internal design teams.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon experience
* Leadership experience, particularly in an industrial dynamic, fast‐paced environment.
* Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or a degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
* Experience delivering leadership to a team of direct reports, with an emphasis on growth and development and team member engagement.
* Employee and performance management experience.
* Distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical or electrical field experience.
* Facilities management, office management, corporate administrative services, or hospitality management experience.
* Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems. Project management experience.
* Experience in design review process to incorporate electrical, mechanical, automation controls solutions to drive equipment reliability and standards.
* Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, blueprint and electrical schematic reading, CMMS programs, preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics.
