An exciting opportunity is now available for an Inventory Procurement Lead within the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Capability Lifecycle Manager (CLCM) program based at Henderson WA. The Inventory Procurement Lead is accountable to the OPV CLCM Supply Chain Manager for the establishment and ongoing management of the CLCM Inventory Procurement team. The Inventory Procurement Lead is directly responsible for the procurement and repair of those parts fitted to the OPV fleet, managing essential OPV vendor relationships as well as the annual OPV sourcing budget. The Inventory Procurement Lead will play a vital role in meeting OPV readiness requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the Commonwealth Sourcing process including the generation of RFQ's, purchase requisitions and purchase orders for the supply of OPV specific parts and materials,
- Lead the planning, co-ordination, and conduct of Sourcing functional requirements;
- Support OPV Australian Industry Capability requirements to identify suitable Australian based vendors for OPV products including vendor technical performance assessments where required;
- Provide mentoring and leadership for Sourcing Team members;
- Perform effective and accurate management of the allocated Sourcing budget including cost & sales forecasting;
- Manage vendor performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including on time delivery;
- Comply with CoA financial, export/import control and inventory management policy and procedures;
- Provide effective communications between stakeholders;
- Provide advice to the OPV Integrated Supply Chain Manager with respect to Sourcing operations;
- Identify ongoing item supportability issues with vendors including obsolescence and Life of Type buy requirements;
- Consult with customers and stakeholders to continuously improve Sourcing operations through the use of lean enterprise practices; and
- Develop and maintain OPVSPO standard processes associated with Sourcing operations.
**Essential Skills Experience and Qualifications**
- Deep knowledge of the Supply Chain environment and recognised as an expert in the Sourcing (procurement/repair) function;
- Minimum of five years' experience in an operational Sourcing role supporting major programs, preferably in a Defence related industry;
- Operational experience in logistics management systems preferably in the defence environment;
- Requires a Certificate IV in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation or Distribution, or equivalent work experience.
