We have a fantastic opportunity at our McNamara Lodge in Meadow Springs for an out-of-the-box and forward-thinking Therapy Assistant.
You will work with the Lifestyle Coordinator and the Occupational Therapist to assess residents’ needs and preferences, develop appropriate one-on-one or group programs, assist in the development and delivery of therapies, document changes in residents’ well-being, and advise staff accordingly.
A Therapy Assistant with RAAFA participates in continuous service improvement.

Role responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of therapy programs, including group and individual activities.
- Assess residents’ needs and preferences and help develop appropriate programs.
- Supervise volunteers assisting with the program.
- Complete documentation and reporting related to the role.
- Communicate outcomes of programs with Allied Health and Clinical teams.
About you
- Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance.
- Previous, demonstrated experience in Residential Aged Care.
- Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proactive with a positive 'get up and go' attitude.
- Flexible with start and finish times.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and ability to relate to the elderly and understand their needs.
- Flexible decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to plan and prioritise tasks.
- Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, families and staff.
