Project Officer Job Summary
This role involves supporting farmers in a locally relevant agri-environment programme that addresses environmental challenges. The Project Officer plays a key part in delivering optimal outputs from farmer participation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct habitat assessments and participate in quality control of submitted assessments.
* Develop farm plans to ensure effective land use.
* Monitor key species, habitats, and chemical parameters as required.
* Identify risks to biodiversity, archaeological heritage, and water quality.
* Assess fire, flooding, and nest predation risks at a local level.
* Design landscape actions to address identified risks.
* Participate in commonage assessments nationwide.
* Support staff with drone surveys and data analysis.
* Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote programme success.
* Provide training to farmers, advisors, and stakeholders on project-related skills.
