About the role

We’re seeking a values-driven Community Engagement Ministry Worker to effectively develop, facilitate and deliver quality needs-based community services with socially relevant and accessible faith pathways to catalyse wholeness in people and our community.

This is a permanent part time position (3 days per week), reporting to the Corps Officer. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 3.

You will successfully

* Support the development and annual review of community needs analysis and strategic plans for service delivery.
* Lead and grow community engagement activities, ensuring they reflect spiritual principles and provide clear faith pathways for those who choose to explore them.
* Identify emerging community needs, develop relevant programs, and stay informed on sector trends and TSA service delivery models.
* Develop relationships and foster partnerships and collaboration with other internal and external community providers
* Build and lead a team of community engagement volunteers who are mobilised to support all community engagement ministries. Equip, train and coordinate volunteers in the Salvos Connect/community space.
* Oversight the delivery of social services, provision & partnerships to community members
* Facilitate access for community members to other Salvation Army mission expressions and linking to corps programs and activities

You will have

* An understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing financial difficulties, homelessness, substance use disorders, mental health etc.
* Minimum 12 months experience (including experience in working in collaboration with other organisations to provide advice to meet client needs)
* A current and valid NSW Working with Children Check
* A NSW current driver’s licence
