What you'll be doing
The Career Medical Officer (CMO) is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team and will take a leadership role, providing high level support to the Aged Care Service medical team. The role entails ensuring the Delirium and Dementia Care Standards as well as Falls and Osteoporosis Standards are met. The position involves monitoring the safety and quality of the Aged Care service with engagement in auditing and participation in quality improvement activities and forward planning of Aged Care Services. Improving hand hygiene amongst medical staff is a priority quality project for this position.
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Five Years postgraduate experience or greater (CMO Grade 2) or less than five years postgraduate experience (CMO Grade 1). A minimum of four years post graduate experience is required.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
* Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
* Demonstrated good organisational, time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
* Have an understanding of patient flow and activity based funding.
