Positions vacant: Full time Metal Fabricators and Welders (First Class)

Responsibilities
* Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and fabricate/ weld to a precise tolerance
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
* Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
* Setting up and maintain metalwork machinery including measuring devices, callipers, rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears
* Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work
* Fabricating and constructing metal components
* Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
* Undertake and adapt to required welding styles (ie vertical up, etc)
* Operate a grinding and finishing completed products
* Review welds to ensure they comply with the specification
* Performing quality checks on completed products
* Comply with all health & safety processes
* Completing job reports
Advanced Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker)
The Advanced Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker) is a highly skilled fabricator specializing in the construction of metal structures, tanks, and vessels. This role requires advanced welding and fabrication expertise, as well as leadership qualities for project management.
Must-Haves
* Advanced welding and fabrication skills for metal structures and vessels.
* Leadership qualities for supervising junior staff and coordinating tasks.
* Proficiency in metal cutting, bending, and shaping techniques.
* Compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Formal training or apprenticeship in boilermaking.
* Extensive experience in heavy metal fabrication projects.
* Knowledge of specialized welding processes (e.g., submerged arc welding).
* Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills for project management.
Welding Skills (Metalwork)
* Welding steelwork.
* Correctly weld the steelwork in accordance with the supplied shop drawings, specification and or markings on the steelwork.
* Understand how to adjust and operate either stick or MIG welding equipment.
* Understand how to use a 5" and 9" grinder.
* Work within specified time frames on assemblies as advised by the workshop manager.
* Undertake all specified welds in accordance with the welding procedures.
Skills and Experience
* Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
* A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant work experience as a Metal Fabricator or Welder
* Advance knowledge of industrial metalwork
* Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
* Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including measuring devices (squares, callipers, tap measure, ruler), shears, rollers, flame cutters, drill presses, have advanced mathematical and engineering skills
* Ability to use and manipulate MIG based welding equipment (TIG, MMA, etc)
* Ability to lift and manipulate large metal object.
* Ability to stand for long periods
* Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
* Able to pass Drug & Alcohol and Medical Screening
* Forklift and overhead gantry crane ticket an advantage.
* High attention to detail
Estimated base salary earnings of $79,499 per annum plus superannuation.
