We have been supplying high quality building, garden & landscaping supplies to Melbourne, Geelong and beyond for nearly 45 years. The Daisy's team includes over 200 people, working across 9 stores and 4 production sites, from Pakenham to Torquay and Colac. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Assistant to join our Colac production team on a full-time basis.
The role
As a Production Assistant your key responsibilities will be:
* Assist with the daily operation of the Hallam soil production facility.
* Monitor incoming soil and organic products to ensure quality expectations are met.
* Maintain soil, sand and other organic material stock levels.
* Assist with batching and screening blended soil products.
* Load both Daisy's fleet vehicles and customer vehicles as required.
* Assist with equipment maintenance or coordinate repairs as needed.
* Assist at the retail stores on a relief basis.
Expected hours of work
38 hours per week plus overtime based on business needs. Standard hours are Monday to Friday during the day, with Saturday work as required.
Skills & experience
The successful applicant will be someone who has:
* Equipment competencies & experience - loader, excavator, screening plant.
* Minimum 3-5 years of front-end loader operating experience required.
* Ability to work autonomously as part of a small team.
* Attention to detail.
* General knowledge of the basic maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Current MR or HR drivers license advantageous.
