Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Payments Operations Manager to oversee and optimize end-to-end payment operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of payment processing across multiple channels and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in payments, financial operations, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to support business growth and deliver a seamless customer payment experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage daily payment operations, including transaction processing, settlements, reconciliations, and chargebacks.
* Oversee payment workflows across multiple payment methods (cards, ACH, digital wallets, etc.).
* Monitor payment performance, error rates, and SLAs, driving continuous process improvements.
* Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, and operational issues.
* Collaborate with finance, product, engineering, customer support, and external payment partners.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (PCI DSS, AML, KYC, etc.).
* Manage relationships with payment processors, banks, and third-party vendors.
* Develop and maintain operational documentation, controls, and reporting dashboards.
* Identify fraud trends and partner with risk teams to implement mitigation strategies.
* Support payment system enhancements, migrations, and new payment method launches.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in payments operations, financial operations, or fintech.
* Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, reconciliations, and dispute management.
* Experience working with payment gateways, processors, and banking partners.
* Knowledge of payment compliance standards (PCI DSS, AML, KYC).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and detail-driven environment.
