Mackenzie Marine and Towage Pty Ltd is an Australian, family owned innovative towage company, operating in the Port of Esperance since A Tug Engineer position has become available within our Esperance operation, located 700kms south east of Perth. MMT's operation complies with best practice standards in quality, safety and environmental management. Our fleet consists of quality designed, constructed and maintained ASD Tugs. We value teamwork, quality customer service and respect for our employees and their families.
What we are looking for
* Essential - Marine Engineer Class 3 required.
* Desirable – ASD Tugs and harbour towage services and trade certificate.
* Valid MSIC and AMSA Medical Certificate.
* Valid Statement of Attainment in Provide First Aid (obtained in previous three years).
* Proven competence to complete maintenance reports, log books, defect reports and enter computer data as required.
* Verification of ability to work safely and effectively within a team environment and emergency response situations.
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
* Preferred that applicants reside or relocate to Esperance.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Reporting to the Operations Co-ordinator.
* Maintenance of tugs commensurate with the organisation's preventative maintenance system, budgets and priority of tasks.
* Supporting the Tug Master and Deckhand/s in aiding shipping movements within the Port of Esperance on a full-time roster system.
* Maintain environmental and pollution control all times whilst working on vessels.
* Compliance with all policies, procedures and work instructions within MMT's Quality, Safety and Environmental Management System and statutory obligations.
* Participation in training exercises and drills consistent with national regulations and MMT's continuous improvement system.
* Contribute to the organisation's safety culture and responsible for completing and checking all required reports and logbooks.
