Master Apps is a dynamic and fast-growing tech organisation dedicated to delivering scalable software solutions.
As we continue to expand, we're looking for a seasoned Fullstack Python Developer to take a senior hands on role in development, shaping architecture, and building momentum developing our products to meet our strategic objectives.
Role
As Senior Fullstack Python Developer, you will build and maintain our core backend systems in Python while contributing to key frontend components.
You'll lead full-stack features end-to-end, from design through to deployment, and work closely with product, design and operations to shape both our technical and product direction.
You'll drive improvements across infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD, observability and performance, and take ownership of architecture decisions that balance scalability, speed and long-term stability.
You'll champion testing, security and maintainability, and be a strong senior voice influencing standards and roadmap priorities.
As we grow, you'll also help guide and mentor other developers to lift capability and code quality across the team.
Qualifications & Experience
8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Python backend development.
Proven experience in fullstack development (backend + frontend) in production environments.
Comfortable designing, building and owning large scale systems with strong architecture skills.
Sound knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and how frontend + backend interact; able to contribute across both.
Hands-on experience with databases (relational and/or NoSQL), message brokers, APIs, microservices architecture, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
Excellent communication skills — able to engage cross-functional stakeholders, articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and mentor team members.
Demonstrated ability to lead and elevate a development team: code reviews, mentoring, design discussions, enforcing quality.
Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and bias for action.
Thrives in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Experience working in agile development setups, continuous delivery environments, and readiness to adapt.
Bonus: experience in hybrid or node-based architectures, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), observability/monitoring stacks.
Working Arrangements
This role is designed with genuine flexibility in mind.
While we're fully supportive of remote work, we're ideally looking for someone who is within reasonable proximity to either Melbourne or Sydney.
The team comes together in person roughly one day each month, and our office space is always open for anyone who prefers to work on site more often, including full time.
We are committed to building a connected team culture.
Because of the nature of the work, applicants must have full Australian working rights and be based in Australia at the time of application.
How to Apply
Please submit: Your resume – highlighting your full-stack / Python experience and leadership contributions.
A cover letter or brief note – summarizing one significant project you led end-to-end (from design to deployment) and the impact it had.
Links to any relevant code samples, GitHub repos or architecture sketches (optional but appreciated).
