What's the role?
News Corp Australia is expanding its Education team and looking to recruit a specialist Education Reporter to curate and deliver compelling, high-quality education content across all State & Communities mastheads including The Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph, Adelaide Advertiser and The Courier Mail. This role can be performed from anywhere in Australia and is critical in driving digital engagement, informing readers on key public and private sector education issues, and supporting our national strategy through collaboration with local newsrooms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the National Education Editor, write national education content across print, digital, newsletters, and social media platforms
* Help coordinate the education content calendar, key deadlines, and publication workflows
* Assist audience engagement through data-led storytelling, tailored to reader interests and platform trends
* Collaborate with S&C masthead teams and internal stakeholders to align content with national strategy and optimise reach
* Champion innovation, collaborate with contributing journalists, and promote a diverse and inclusive newsroom culture
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will be experienced in journalism or content creation, with a strong focus on education topics. Proven ability to develop and execute content that drives audience engagement and growth. Strong understanding of digital publishing, audience analytics, and SEO best practices. Sound editorial judgment, ensuring content meets high standards of accuracy, legality, and relevance. Leadership skills to foster innovation, mentorship, and collaboration across teams. The successful candidate is innovative, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic environment. They exhibit a passion for education journalism, uphold diversity in content and workplace culture, and are committed to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
