* Job Summary:
The Senior Child and Family Counsellor will play a pivotal role as part of the Child Trauma Service program, providing counselling and support to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse, family violence, or have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour.
* Main Responsibilities:
o Providing individual and group counselling sessions to children and young people
o Working with families and care systems to develop strategies for supporting children and young people
o Participating in initial response teams to respond to referrals and provide initial support
* Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
o A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline
o Membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Australian Psychological Society (APS), or another relevant professional body
o Substantial experience in child protection and trauma-informed practice
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Able to work effectively in a team environment
o Ability to work collaboratively with parents, carers, external stakeholders, and government departments
o Current Victorian Working with Children Check and driver's licence
