We are seeking a skilled and experienced structural steel fabricator and welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the fabrication, installation, and repair of structural steel components for various industries such as mining, construction, and infrastructure.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings to fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel components. They will also use hand and power tools to cut, drill, and shape steel components to meet specific requirements. Additionally, they will weld steel components using GMAW, FCAW, MMAW welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret engineering drawings to fabricate and install structural steel components
* Use hand and power tools to cut, drill, and shape steel components
* Weld steel components using GMAW, FCAW, MMAW welding techniques
* Inspect, maintain, and repair structural steel components
* Operate machinery such as cranes, hoists, and forklifts to move and manipulate steel components
Requirements
The following qualifications and skills are required for this position:
Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welder)
Skills:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel and plate fabrication and welding
* Proven experience with GMAW, FCAW, and MMAW welding techniques
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Proficiency in positional welding
* Ability to pass welding qualification test
* Experience with cranes, hoists, and forklifts
* Strong attention to detail and quality control
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
* Valid Australian driver's licence
