Position Purpose
The
Sales Consultant – Recruitment & Workforce Development Platform
is responsible for
driving revenue growth
for Own Words by actively generating, managing, and converting a sales pipeline of employers and organisations.
The role focuses on selling
job advertising and recruitment services
on the Own Words platform, particularly to employers operating within the
NDIS, allied health, and inclusive employment sectors
.
This is a
results-focused sales role
. Success is measured by employer onboarding, advertising sales, repeat business, and pipeline conversion.
A sound understanding of the
NDIS system and its employment context
is essential to effectively position the platform and close sales with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
* Proactively identify, target, and engage employers to generate
new sales opportunities
* Promote paid job advertising and recruitment services on the Own Words platform
* Convert employer enquiries into
paid advertising and recruitment outcomes
* Clearly articulate the commercial and social value of Own Words' skills-based recruitment approach
Pipeline Management
* Build, manage, and maintain an active
sales pipeline
from lead to conversion
* Track leads, follow-ups, conversions, and revenue outcomes
* Prioritise high-value opportunities and maintain consistent sales activity
* Work independently to meet agreed sales targets and revenue goals
Employer Engagement
* Engage employers to understand workforce needs and recruitment challenges
* Position Own Words as a practical, cost-effective recruitment solution
* Build ongoing relationships that lead to
repeat advertising and long-term clients
Sales Performance & Reporting
* Demonstrate measurable sales outcomes including:
* Employer onboarding
* Advertising sales
* Recruitment placements
* Revenue generated
* Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline status, and outcomes
* Provide regular sales updates to the Founder / Director
Collaboration & Professional Practice
* Work collaboratively with qualified Human Resources professionals and Speech Pathologists within Own Words
* Ensure sales activity aligns with ethical, inclusive, and professional standards
* Represent Own Words professionally in all employer and community interactions
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in
sales, business development, or revenue-generating roles
* Demonstrated ability to
build and convert a sales pipeline
* Understanding of the
NDIS system
, including employers, providers, and employment pathways
* Strong commercial communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to work independently, manage time, and drive results
* Can work independently and report results on a very regular basis
* Willing to learn innovative recruitment tools and think beyond traditional recruitment methods.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience selling services in the
NDIS, allied health, or community services sector
* Experience in recruitment, workforce development, or job advertising
* Experience with CRM systems, sales tracking, or digital platforms
* Existing employer or provider networks within the NDIS space
