About the role: This Payroll Accountant will take full ownership of payroll for the organisation, managing end-to-end payroll processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple systems. This role provides the opportunity to partner with key stakeholders across the business, drive process improvements, and play a pivotal role in shaping the payroll function. You will be joining a diverse and multicultural team where different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences are genuinely valued and contribute to how the organisation operates. Key Responsibilities: Manage full payroll processing, including new hires, adjustments, leave, and terminations. Process fortnightly payroll and superannuation payments for both local and international employees. Prepare monthly payroll accounting entries, including reconciliations and payroll tax. Liaise with HR and departmental managers on pay-related matters and employee inquiries. Monitor compliance with payroll legislation and company policies, keeping processes up to date. Skills and Experience: Previous payroll and payroll accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and employment law. Proficient with payroll and accounting systems (experience with Employment Hero/Employment Innovation and Technology One highly regarded). Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
