About The Role

As a Field Worker (Roads and Drainage) you will be part of the roads and drainage district team who are responsible for maintenance of Ipswich City Council infrastructure.

Your main focus will be working within a crew to maintain roads and drainage infrastructure and operating machinery and ensure assigned tasks are completed with limited supervision.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

* Footpath maintenance
* Remove silt, debris, and vegetation from drains, swales, and kerb and channel
* Repair damaged culverts, headwalls, or end treatments
* Reinstate erosion-control materials such as rock, geofabric, or turf
* Perform minor concrete works (footpaths, kerbs, drainage structures)
* Follow safety procedures including PPE use, hazard identification, and site risk assessments

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Current C Class Drivers Licence
* Current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence is desirable
* Experience in civil construction or the ability to quickly gain knowledge of road and drainage maintenance
* A focus on proudly enhancing the quality life for the community

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary commencing at $68,049 plus 12.5% superannuation.
