About the role
Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a FaPMI Coordinator to join our growing team on a part‐time basis (40 hours per fortnight). This role is pivotal in supporting families where a parent has a mental illness, through administering a statewide program that aims to reduce the impact of parental mental illness on all family members through timely, coordinated, preventative, and supportive action. The role can be based in Traralgon, Warragul, Sale or Bairnsdale.
Key responsibilities include:
* Increase the capacity of the adult Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide a family inclusive response to the parenting needs of consumers and the needs of the children.
* Increase the capacity of the adult AMHS network partners to recognize and respond appropriately to parental mental illness.
* Establish and strengthen service networks in partnership with consumers and carers to provide a coordinated and collaborative response to the needs of families where a parent has a mental illness.
* Work in collaboration with other FaPMI coordinators on state‐wide activities through meetings and task‐focused project/work groups.
* Provide specialist mental health services with training, consultation and supervision processes to promote family‐focused practice that takes into account the needs of all family members, including children.
* Develop new and/or enhance existing partnerships between sectors and services, including with indigenous and CALD communities, to support the work of the FaPMI program in the region.
About you
You are an experienced mental health clinician with knowledge of the adult, child and youth mental health field and associated health and welfare services.
You will have:
* Relevant professional qualification in a health‐related discipline (psychology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy) with current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where applicable.
* Psychologists must be registered with a specialist endorsement in either Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology.
* Minimum 5 years' post‐specialist experience in mental health.
* Experience in working with adults who are parents who have experienced mental illness, and their families.
* Understanding of the developmental needs of children 0‐18 years.
* Commitment to compassionate and empathetic care.
* Current driver's licence and computer literacy.
