About the Role
As a Concrete Foreman, you will take charge of daily site operations, supervising and coordinating concreting activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for an experienced concreter ready to step into management — or an established supervisor looking for their next challenge within a professional and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on‑site concreting activities including pre-pour preparation, placing, finishing, and curing of slabs and structural elements.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a medium to large concreting crew to ensure productivity and quality outcomes.
- Read and interpret site plans, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain efficient workflow.
- Ensure all works are compliant with WHS standards, company procedures, and project specifications.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and maintain relevant site documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, builders, engineers, and project managers.
- Support the professional development of junior team members through training and guidance.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' concreting experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong technical knowledge of various concrete applications (slabs, footings, driveways, structural concrete, etc.). Proven ability to manage crews and multiple work fronts while maintaining a safe and efficient site.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, construction documents, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Current White Card, Asbestos Awareness, and Silica Awareness.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in civil or commercial construction environments.
- Current First Aid, Traffic Control, or other relevant tickets.
- Familiarity with Canberra construction codes and local site practices.
