About our role
We are seeking an experienced Communications Officer to help deliver clear, accurate and timely information to the community regarding low-risk infrastructure and maintenance projects across the Northern District.
* External Communications:
o Drafting correspondence, flyers, social media posts, and web updates for external stakeholders including residents and local businesses.
o Preparing project webpages, analytics reports and content updates to ensure consistency across all platforms.
o Developing engaging content for internal information platforms to inform team members about project progress.
o Producing stakeholder and road-user notices for maintenance and low-risk projects in a clear and concise manner.
o Preparing basic media statements and compiling daily media clips to stay informed about industry developments.
o Managing communication responses for low-level stakeholder matters in a professional and courteous way.
* Stakeholder Engagement:
o Supporting engagement activity for low-risk infrastructure projects by attending community events and meetings.
o Responding to community enquiries via the public phone line in a prompt and helpful manner.
o Sourcing stakeholder contact details and maintaining accurate records in spreadsheets and databases to ensure effective communication.
o Assisting with or attending stakeholder meetings alongside Engagement Officers to build strong relationships.
* Administration & Coordination:
o Managing the correspondence tracker to ensure timely follow-up on communications.
o Supporting routine coordination tasks within the Customer & Stakeholder Management team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
