We are seeking an experienced PACU nurse to join our dynamic theatre department, working in a diverse, mixed-case environment. This role is ideal for healthcare professionals with expertise in Orthopaedics, Eyes, and Urology, and additional experience in Dental and Gynaecology procedures is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality post-anaesthesia care to patients in the PACU, ensuring their safety and comfort during recovery.
* Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver seamless and efficient patient care.
* Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in their condition.
* Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
* Support and educate patients and their families during the recovery process.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, upholding the hospital's values and standards.
Qualifications
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility to obtain registration.
* Proven experience as a PACU nurse, with expertise in Orthopaedics, Eyes, and Urology.
* Additional experience in Dental and Gynaecology procedures is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of infection control practices and surgical protocols.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach to care.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Monitor and assess patients recovering from anaesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless care.
* Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the PACU, adhering to infection control standards.
* Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patients' conditions.
* Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
