AIC Mines owns the Eloise Copper Operations located near Cloncurry, Queensland. Eloise is an established underground mine using conventional crush-grind-float processing to produce a high-grade copper-gold concentrate. We are currently expanding Eloise following the acquisition of the nearby Jericho deposit, which has reached first ore in development and will move into production this year. AIC Mines is listed on the ASX under the code A1M.
The Role
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient charging and firing of production blasts to support underground mining operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production schedules while upholding the highest safety standards. This role has a direct impact on production outcomes and site safety performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Production charging (upholes and downholes) using Orica products including Hypercharge Emulsion and ICON detonators
* Operating Orica Blaster 3000 / IKON Logger II remote firing systems
* Managing explosive storage and stock control in line with site requirements
* Inspecting work areas, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures
* Working collaboratively with production and development crews
About You
* Qualified Shotfirer with current QESC (Queensland Explosives Security Clearance) card
* Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in underground charge-up operations
* Experience with Orica charging systems and firing equipment (highly regarded)
* Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
* Reliable team player with effective communication skills
* Current manual QLD driver’s licence
* Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical and police clearance
