About the Role:
This position involves providing direct care, guidance, and supervision to young people in a residential setting. You will support children and young people with disabilities to build independence and life skills, as well as assist with daily routines, self-care, education, and recreational activities.
You will promote safe, stable, and nurturing living environments, building trusting relationships and offering emotional support and mentorship. Collaboration within a therapeutic, trauma-informed care framework is essential, and accurate records and documentation must be maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A valid Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or being willing and eligible to obtain prior to commencement
* Able to work across a full shift pattern (mornings, evenings, and sleepovers)
* A valid Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
* An attained or working towards a relevant Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Certificate IV (Community Services, Youth/Social Work, etc.)
* Experience working with young people/children
* Experience working in other support work-related fields, i.e., disability, mental health, aged care, and childcare
