Your new role
As the EL1 Project Manager, you will report to a senior director and work closely with the executive leadership team.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the implementation of the Strategic Plan across all branches, ensuring alignment with agency-wide goals and timelines.
* Conducting a comprehensive gap analysis of current planning and reporting processes to identify areas for improvement.
* Facilitating cross-branch consistency, ensuring planning activities are strategically aligned and coordinated.
* Driving change management initiatives, embedding new processes into BAU operations to ensure long-term sustainability.
* Designing and implementing tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress, manage risks, and communicate milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
* Managing consultancy contracts, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth procurement practices and delivering value for money.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritise objectives, and align projects with broader organisational goals.
* Proven experience in project management and strategic planning at the EL1 level or equivalent, ideally within a government or policy-driven environment.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across senior leadership and operational teams.
* Strong understanding of contract management and Commonwealth procurement frameworks, with a track record of managing external consultancies effectively.
