Sunwater is a leader in developing and delivering large-scale bulk water projects throughout Queensland to achieve its purpose - Water for Prosperity.
We are seeking an accomplished Project Director to assume responsibility for the Paradise Dam project, based in our Brisbane office.
The successful candidate will oversee Sunwater's large dam infrastructure agenda, managing a significant project that delivers tangible benefits to communities in the Bundaberg area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight of all project management phases from strategic planning to execution
* Management of multidisciplinary teams and engagement with external stakeholders
* Building high-performance teams to ensure project objectives and benefits are achieved
About You
To excel as a Project Director at Sunwater, you will have a proven track record in successfully delivering large-scale civil engineering projects in demanding environments. Your experience should include involvement across all project management phases—and be supported by formal tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Engineering.
You are skilled at fostering collaboration among teams and engaging constructively with stakeholders, including communities, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Your interpersonal skills enable clear communication during complex negotiations or sensitive discussions.
You are commercially astute, guided by ethical principles, and proactive in seeking process improvements to meet immediate objectives without compromising future sustainability.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience leading successful delivery of large-scale projects in complex environments
* Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, with skills in coaching and mentoring
* Innovative thinking and adaptability to ensure core project objectives are met
* Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Engineering (or equivalent), with technical expertise relevant to planning, construction, and delivery of bulk water or pipeline infrastructure projects
* At least 20 years' experience managing complex civil infrastructure projects from inception to completion
* Registration as a Certified Practising Project Manager or evidence of progress toward this credential is highly regarded
* Extensive experience overseeing commercial aspects such as cost forecasting, reporting, and contract administration on projects exceeding $2 billion in value
* Experience with collaborative contracting models is highly advantageous
