About the Role

Macquarie University is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Proteomics Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the National NeuroProteomics Facility (NNPF).

This newly established facility will be a key node within the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF) and part of the BioPlatforms Australia (BPA) network, delivering world‑class neuroproteomic services to academic, clinical, and industry clients. In this pivotal role, you will manage and improve operational workflows, contribute your technical expertise, and drive business development initiatives to grow the facility's reputation and client base. * Contribute to the development and execution of the facility's strategic plan and research service portfolio.
* Maintain sector knowledge and incorporate best practices in neurosciences, neurodegenerative research, and proteomics to enhance research service offerings.
* Drive business development initiatives, including infrastructure and grant funding applications and client engagement strategies.
* Oversee procurement, installation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of facility equipment and consumables.
* Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and pricing structure development, including cost‑benefit analysis.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage WHS compliance and foster a safe working environment.
* Lead or contribute expert advice to projects and initiatives aligned with operational objectives.
* Continuously improve operational systems, procedures, and processes.

About the Faculty

The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) is home to world‑class research centres and facilities spanning biomedical, clinical, and health disciplines. Our mission is to deliver end‑to‑end solutions—from sample preparation and analysis to bioinformatics reporting—while driving innovation through collaborative research and technology development. Our purpose is to accelerate neurodegenerative disease research by delivering cutting‑edge proteomic solutions that drive discovery and bring us closer to a cure.

About You

You are a proactive and detail‑oriented professional with strong technical expertise in proteomics and facility management. You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a proven ability to manage complex operations while driving innovation and business growth.
