The Product Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in product development by ensuring that procured materials and components meet quality standards and are delivered on time. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to source materials and components in line with the company's overall procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and procure materials and components for product introductions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
* Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
* Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and marketing teams to align procurement activities with product development timelines and goals.
* Conduct thorough cost analysis and negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms.
* Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.
* Manage procurement activities within project timelines, ensuring all materials are available on time for production and launch.
* Ensure all procured materials and components meet required quality standards and specifications.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a new product introduction or manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with custom part production, high-precision machining, and tight-tolerance component sourcing.
* Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and cost modeling.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, be able to analyze complex data sets, and have a strong understanding of supply chain management principles. They should also be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
