Position Information

Drummond Memorial Public School is located in Armidale, a vibrant regional city in New South Wales renowned for its rich cultural heritage and diverse community. The school serves 220 students, including 86 Aboriginal students, across various educational settings. Drummond Memorial Public School offers 9 general education classes catering to Kindergarten to Year 6 students, along with two Multi‐Categorical classes, a Tutorial Centre (ATLC) and a Suspension Centre (Karayuna). Our school is committed to enhancing student learning and wellbeing through thoughtfully designed programs. We strongly emphasise Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and implement evidence‐informed literacy programming. Furthermore, we focus on High Potential and Gifted Education through initiatives like the Coolabah Dynamic Assessment. We support our diverse community and collaborate closely with our dedicated Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association to provide student support and fundraising initiatives. To assist our English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) students, we work closely with students from diverse language backgrounds, including Aboriginal students, ensuring their unique needs are met. In preparation for incoming preschool students, we offer a Readiness for School program during Terms 3 and 4, which helps support their transition into Kindergarten. Our Aboriginal Education Officer (AEO) collaborates with students and their families to enhance educational outcomes and attendance.
