Welcome to Ability Action Australia!

We are one of the largest providers to the NDIS, supporting over 10,000 participants every year with the care they need, when and where it is needed. We have a multi-disciplinary team approach, building a quality support service around the needs and goals of our participants and their family.

Help us help others with life changing support that can improve their independence, access, development, health and wellbeing, and function.

Excited by the opportunity to work across an adult caseload spanning physical disability, psychosocial, and neurodevelopmental conditions? This could be the role for you.

Based in Broadmeadow, you'll provide support to adult participants living across the broader Newcastle, Hunter and Maitland region (depending on where you live) whilst working in a diverse team of Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist and Behavior Support Practitioners. You'll support participants in aged care facilities, day programs, the community, homes, and/or our clinic space.

We offer an environment to learn and grow together, you'll have access to weekly supervision with your team leader, discipline specific team meetings, team building events, regular CPD and professional development pathways too. Our seniors empower our clinicians while inspiring the kind of creative thinking that leads to the positive success stories we hear from our participants every day!

Responsibility will include:

* Manage an allocated adults caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
* Assess participants' emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical level of function and capacity to perform ADL's and IADL's
* Provide complex therapeutic interventions
* Supervise and mentor junior clinicians

What's in it for you?

* Work flexibility – From 24 hours a week to full time, you select the hours and days that work best for you as an individual.
* Excellent remuneration – Industry leading salary + salary packaging + KM reimbursement + laptop + smartphone + purchased leave + bonus opportunities.
* True work-life balance – The autonomy of setting your calendar, your way. Combine the convenience of working from home with time at our supportive hubs.
* Career progression – Access to ongoing training tailored to your interests and long‐term goals combined with professional development opportunities through Ability Action Australia and our parent company, MedHealth.
* Continuous Professional Development – A generous CPD allowance and paid leave days to complete this.
* Passionate and positive culture – Be part of a purpose‐driven team that believes in your development and in making a difference.

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
* A pro‐active attitude and interest in continually developing your skills
* Experience in mentoring and supervising other Occupational Therapists
* A genuine passion for working in the disability sector
