About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Boat Builder and Repairer or Marine Labourer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
Job type: permanent full time
Shift and schedule: 8 hour shift – Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm
Work location: Capel Sound
Position Summary:
Your day-to-day duties will be varied, but may include:
· Fibreglass vessel construction, repair, and modification
· Wooden vessel construction, repair, and modification
· Custom fit-out work
· Project preparation and planning
· Gelcoat repair
· Internal and external outfitting
· General boat maintenance and repairs
· Complete vessel safety systems checks
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Candidates must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
Skills:
* A love for boats, a sense of humour and the ability to work well in a team
* Relevant certificate IV and at least 2 years of experience OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience
* Specifically, a Certificate IV in Marine Craft Construction is required for this role.
* Relevant work experience includes any construction trades background.
* Technical skills and practical knowledge of boats
* Experience in vessel and structural repairs and restoration
* Have experience with power tools
* Fibreglass experience (desirable)
* Wooden boat building experience (desirable)
* Forklift licence and construction white card (desirable)
* Eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines
* Current drivers' licence
