About the Role
As the lead for web design, you will manage the full lifecycle of website and eCommerce projects. You will be responsible for defining digital requirements, proposing suitable platforms, apps, leading UX/UI design, and overseeing implementation through to launch and optimisation.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong technical fluency, and the ability to support company growth through improved digital experiences, brand cohesion, and scalable eCommerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead digital projects from concept to completion — strategy, design, build, testing, and optimisation.
* Independently manage all aspects of web and eCommerce development using Shopify, WordPress, HubSpot, and associated tools.
* Develop platform recommendations aligned with business needs, integrations, and future scalability.
* Create UX frameworks, information architecture, and UI systems that support intuitive user journeys.
* Build and implement cohesive brand identity systems across all digital touchpoints.
* Produce high-quality design assets: interface elements, graphics, digital content, and product imagery.
* Optimise websites for performance, SEO, accessibility, and conversion.
* Implement analytics, automation, and customer experience tools to support digital marketing activities.
* Provide guidance on digital best practices, emerging trends, and global eCommerce standards.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders while operating with significant autonomy and decision‑making authority.
Skills & Expertise
* Mid‑level experience in digital design, UX/UI, and web development across multiple sectors.
* Proven ability to manage complex digital projects independently.
* Strong understanding of modern eCommerce platforms, integrations, and online customer behaviour.
* Proficiency with Shopify, WordPress, HubSpot, Inflow, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, and marketing automation tools.
* Skilled in content structure, SEO, and conversion‑focused design.
* Ability to translate business goals into technical and creative execution.
* Experience working with developers, IT staff, and marketing teams, while remaining fully capable of autonomous work.
* High level of visual design competency paired with strong technical problem‑solving.
Strategic Advantage
* Working knowledge of international eCommerce markets and global digital design standards.
* Ability to advise on future expansion opportunities, platform readiness, and cross‑market digital requirements.
* Experience applying global best practices to support long‑term digital strategy and brand growth.
Preferred Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Digital Media, Digital Design, Multimedia, or related disciplines.
* Additional studies in marketing, innovation, or project management.
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in a design or digital field.
* 5+ years of professional experience with a strong design portfolio.
