Position Descriptor
The Mid-Year Reception Classroom Teacher is responsible for providing a positive and supportive transition into school for young learners, establishing strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing. The role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that builds student confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Teachers deliver developmentally appropriate, play-based and explicit teaching aligned with the Australian Curriculum and early years frameworks, using ongoing assessment to inform practice and meet the needs of all learners. Classrooms reflect The Lobethal Way (Respectful, Responsible, Learners), with a strong emphasis on routines, relationships, and self‐regulation. The teacher works closely with families and collaborates within Professional Learning Communities to ensure a consistent, high‐quality start to each child's schooling journey. Please note that part‐time and flexible arrangements will be considered.
