Handyperson
The hotel is seeking a skilled Handyperson to join its premises maintenance team.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment, performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and maintaining the hotel's equipment and facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures
* Performing general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel premises including carpentry work, painting, and plumbing
* Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies while minimising waste and promoting 'green' initiatives
* Minor repairs of non-gas or non-electrical kitchen equipment
* Understanding of air conditioning principles
* Minor plumbing e.g. tap washers, toilet flushers and seals
* Minor carpentry work e.g. installation of skirting boards and adjustment
* Minor Painting work including minor repairs to wallpaper
* Changing light globes, maintain the in-house Television and movie system, room automation system
* Minor bathroom repairs e.g. grouting and minor repairs to tiles, replacement of silicone, minor water damage in hotel areas
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Full working rights in Australia without restrictions
* Some college or advanced vocational training preferred
* Experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience; hotel experience preferred
* A good understanding of both product and equipment used throughout the working day
* Certifications include Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required
* Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidays
* Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
