We are looking for a Finance & Bookkeeping Lead with solid HR / people operations experience to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while supporting staff management and internal structure.
About the Role
This is a trusted, hands‐on role reporting directly to the Directors. You will own finance operations first, with responsibility for payroll, compliance support, and HR administration, working closely with external accountants.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Bookkeeping (Primary Focus)
* Manage accounts payable and supplier payments
* Run payroll, including timesheets, leave, and superannuation
* Prepare BAS (data preparation and reconciliation) for external accountants
* Maintain accurate financial records and controls
* Liaise with external accountants and tax advisors
HR & People Operations (Secondary Focus)
* Manage employee records, contracts, and digital signing
* Support onboarding and offboarding
* Track attendance, leave, and compliance
* Act as first point of contact for HR and payroll questions
Internal Operations Support
* Support coordination between sales, warehouse, and admin teams
* Help enforce internal processes and SOPs
* Improve reporting, structure, and organisation
About You
You are detail‐oriented, reliable, and confident in bookkeeping and payroll, with enough HR experience to support a growing team.
You will likely have:
* Strong bookkeeping or accounting experience (Xero or similar)
* Payroll and BAS preparation experience (Australia)
* HR / people operations experience (contracts, onboarding, compliance)
* Experience with CRM's
* Calm, organised, and structured working style
Experience in e-commerce, retail, warehouse, or trade-based businesses is highly regarded.
