Overview
Foot Health Nurse – Podiatry Support Care and Allied Health Assistant – Podiatry Support are roles with Sky Podiatry in the Launceston Region. Part-time or full-time roles available, Weekdays Only, in-clinic and aged care facilities. The team will provide routine foot care to our established patient base within clinics and across aged care facilities, within a structured clinical framework and with ongoing podiatry team support.
About you and the role descriptions are provided below to reflect responsibilities, expectations, and the required qualifications.
About You
You are a compassionate and motivated Foot Health Nurse or Allied Health Assistant who enjoys helping people stay mobile, comfortable, and independent. You take pride in delivering high-quality care and understand the importance of maintaining strong clinical standards while creating a positive patient experience.
You bring a professional and proactive approach, are confident working independently while remaining connected with a supportive podiatry team, and can escalate clinical concerns when needed. You are organized, reliable, value clear documentation and patient safety, and are seeking a stable, rewarding role within a well-structured clinical service.
Foot care experience is valued, particularly nail care; training can be provided for the right candidate.
About the Role
Be part of Sky Podiatry's growing footcare team, providing ongoing foot care to both new and existing patients. You will care for patients who are under the care of an AHPRA-registered Podiatrist, regularly reviewed under our clinical governance framework, and clearly scoped as low-risk for podiatry support follow-up care. All patients are assessed, with treatment plans and risk classifications determined by a podiatrist before allocation to podiatry support care.
Scope of Practice
You will be responsible for:
* Routine nail care (including thickened nails)
* Low-risk corn and callus reduction
* Skin and foot health monitoring
* Identifying and escalating any clinical changes
* Accurate documentation and handover to the podiatry team
You will NOT be expected to:
* Perform initial assessments without prior triage by a podiatrist
* Diagnose pathology
* Manage high-risk feet or complex wounds
* Work outside your professional scope
Clear escalation pathways are in place, and podiatrist support is always available. Treatment plans are determined by Podiatrists and patients are reviewed by a Podiatrist every 12 months or when requested to do so.
