Overview
A close-knit family of three in Dalkeith is seeking a calm, adaptable, and caring nanny to support a 10-year-old boy as he transitions into mainstream school.
The family values honesty, love, learning, and togetherness and would love to find someone who enjoys working with quirky, creative kids and can provide gentle guidance and educational support.
Days and Hours
10 hours per week
3 shifts (2 × 3 hours and 1 × 4 hours) over 3 days, between 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Days flexible for the right candidate.
About the Role
Providing home-schooling style, engaging and educational activities (such as exploring the riverbank, visiting museums, or outings that encourage learning through experience)
Supervise playtime, downtime, and independent activities
Prepare simple, healthy lunches and snacks
School pick up and driving the child to local outings and activities (family car provided)
Ideal Candidate
Calm, adaptable, and enjoys working with children who think outside the box
Has lived with or has professional experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities (essential)
Education experience or background is a bonus (to assist with home-schooling)
Reliable, nurturing, and enjoys creating positive learning experiences
Requirements
Driver's licence and confident driver (family car provided for use during work hours)
Experience working or living with people with disabilities (highly advantageous)
Childcare qualifications not required but valued
Current Working With Children Check
Current First Aid certificate
Police Check
Preferably a cat lover (3 cats)
