Actuarial Specialist Role
As an Actuarial Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our valuation processes. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in identifying trends, assessing their impact on our financial performance, and providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure timely completion of bi-annual valuation processes and monthly roll-forward valuations.
* Identify and report on material trends from valuation processes and assess potential impact on future profitability and solvency.
* Provide input into planning processes and ensure projected Profit & Loss and balance sheet items are validated and realistic.
* Analyse a range of data sources as inputs to parameterization of the Internal Capital Model.
* Monitor implications of economic change drivers on asset liability management and solvency.
* Contribute to the development, improvement, and implementation of actuarial reporting processes and risk identification.
Requirements
* Essential Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent.
* Comprehensive understanding of organisational financial frameworks and experience in general insurance reserving.
* Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
* Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions.
* Preferred Skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialised systems, software, databases, presentation, reporting, and communication tools.
* Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries, and service providers.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and empower people to develop individual and team potential.
