We are seeking an experienced Team Leader - Procurement to provide direction, leadership, and strategic oversight to a high-performing procurement team. This role is critical in ensuring value-for-money outcomes, strong stakeholder partnerships, and procurement practices that are transparent, compliant, and future-focused.

The Role
As the Team Leader Procurement, you will lead the Procurement team to deliver best-practice procurement outcomes that support organisational priorities and community benefit.
You will set direction, influence decision-making, and embed a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement across procurement activities. With a strong focus on early engagement, governance, and continuous improvement, you will inspire your team to achieve excellence and represent the organisation's values in every interaction.
Key Responsibility
Working with the Divisional Head of Finance to develop a clear, shared vision and goals for the team in line with organisational objectives.
Develops strategic understanding in all facets of team and Council activities to enable guidance to the organisation.
Engage with stakeholders to deliver procurement value through cost benefit, improved quality, and improved community outcomes.
Skill & Competencies
Possession of an appropriate degree and preferably post graduate qualifications in business administration, or a related field.
Demonstrated commercial experience in driving measurable value in procurement processes.
Experience in the procurement of works and services as well as goods.
Strong negotiation skills and experience.
Experience in undertaking complex tender processes, particularly capital projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of contract law principles, commercial law and procurement activities, including contract management.
Sound knowledge of probity, risk management and relevant legislation including Australian Standards relating to contract conditions.
