The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 58 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). We work to showcase these natural and cultural wonders to the world, demonstrating to all why these places are so special, and inspiring communities to become more invested in their care and future.

The Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Services Branch provides the operational, financial, and strategic support to ensure the Division meets its corporate plan and park management objectives. Our primary role is to manage the business enabling services that allow policy, program and park operations to function efficiently, ensuring compliance with public sector governance frameworks.

The Property and Security Section is responsible for:

* Establishing a whole-of-division approach to asset planning, acquisition, maintenance and disposal that is consistent, fit-for-purpose and in line with the target of Net Zero.
* Planning and delivering robust protective security and emergency response measures on Park that mitigate risk to property, staff and visitors and conform to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
* Working closely with our ICT team to coordinate the planning, delivery and management of fit-for-purpose ICT services across our Parks and within the corporate offices.

The Section works closely with the broader Departmental teams in the delivery of these functions.

The key duties of the position include:

The Section is commencing work with Parks stakeholders to review current approaches to managing assets and operations on park and design and implement a consistent whole-of-division approach that better enables each Park to deliver their core business.

You will be responsible for working under limited supervision to manage a range of activities, including but not limited to:

* Facilitate the requirements gathering workshops for a digital asset management system with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Develop process maps, business requirements, and use cases that clearly articulate the division’s needs and address any current limitations in our asset management processes.
* Supporting the delivery and piloting of a digital asset management system, including actively participating in evaluating the system’s feasibility and effectiveness for enabling a consistent approach across all Parks.
* Design and deliver training products, instructional materials, and other change management activities that will help drive effective adoption of new ICT solutions within the organisation.
* Provide ongoing system support and executive reporting for the asset management system once delivered.

Eligibility

Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

Pre-employment checks - your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period.
