Job Description
The Job Role We are looking for experienced Welders / Fabricators / Engineering Production Workers to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry. Welders / Fabricators & Engineering Production Workers
* Lay out, cut, fit, measure and weld to fabricate Cane Transporters/ agricultural equipment to a high accuracy
* Repair/retrofit damaged machinery, including any upgrades
Skills and Experience
* Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans/ drawings and/ or retro engineer from existing units/ items and be able to record any changes for draftsman.
* Ensure a high standard of quality, neatness, and accuracy
* Experience in a variety of practices and techniques related to welding/ positional welding.
Inspect and test welds and equipment
* Operational knowledge of manufacturing and welding applying TIG and MIG
Working with machinery, hand & power tools
* Setting up, operating and adjusting manufacturing production plan to shape and cut steel and sheet metal according to production specifications
* Operating welding equipment
* Knowledge of operating general metal shop equipment and tools to assist with general maintenance of those tools
* Equipment/tools are utilized safely and productively, storing tools correctly when they are not in use.
* Familiarity with executing welding operations in compliance with safety policies
* Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes would be an advantage
* At least 3-years experience

Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering is a small, locally owned company based in Ingham, with workshops in Townsville & Ingham that provides engineering, drafting, fabrication, fitting, machining, blasting & painting services. We also repair damaged transporters and fabricate spare parts and other agricultural equipment.
