We have an urgent need for a manager to oversee and provide direction for all Personnel Department related issues, in order to ensure that members, volunteers and employees are well supported for the time they are associated with Wycliffe. The role is located at the National Centre, Kangaroo Ground in Victoria. We accept enquiries from Australian and New Zealand citizens and PRs only.Hours: 4-5 days/week. At least two days in the office, other days can be working from home.Location: Kangaroo Ground, Victoria. Responsibilities Provide oversight and support for all staff in the Personnel DepartmentSet the Personnel budget annually according to the priorities of the Department and approve expenditure as neededThink and plan strategically for the development of the departmentOversee the flow of care for all members (including new applicants, new members preparing for assignments, issues of member care for current members and retirees, and training)Liaise with colleagues outside Wycliffe Australia as required and review these annuallyCoordinate scheduling, agenda and minutes of Personnel Committee meetingsAs Child Safety Officer, ensure all Wycliffe staff are compliant with the Child and Vulnerable Persons Policy, accurate records are kept, reports are handled according to policy and procedure, and training is relevantDevelop and maintain competencies in the broad spectrum of Personnel responsibilities including awareness of legislation, arbitration issues and other industry 'markers'Regularly review and revise Personnel policies and processes in conjunction with relevant peopleNetwork with others inside and outside the mission community in order to assess trends and directions for personnel workContribute to the CEO Senior Leadership TeamEngage in regular professional development and professional supervision Qualifications A genuine and demonstrable personal faith in Jesus Christ, and a commitment to living out Christian values in all aspects of work and lifeRelevant HR experience, understanding of HR practices, policies and procedures, and the ability to apply them to the organisation's goalsStrong leadership skills including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and empower and nurture team membersExcellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage competing and/or changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressureProven team-oriented approach to work, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate information flows within the teamWell-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with a wide variety of stakeholders with confidentiality, professionalism and discretionAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Google Workspace, and a willingness and capacity to learn new databases Training Some Bible College, language and culture training would be helpful.Orientation workshops, held at the National Centre.
