Finance Officer – 12-Month Parental Leave Contract | For-Purpose Organisation Maitland Location | Full-Time Onsite Kids Out West (KOW) is seeking a suitably qualified, organised, and capable Finance Officer to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract, with the potential for ongoing employment. Based in the heart of Maitland, this full-time role plays an important part in supporting KOW’s financial operations and providing finance support across our associated business entities. You’ll work closely with company directors and leadership across multiple service streams, helping ensure accurate financial processes while contributing to a purpose-driven organisation making a real difference in the community. About the Role Your primary responsibilities will include managing payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring compliance with relevant awards and maintaining audit-ready financial documentation. Key duties include: Managing and processing fortnightly payroll, including payroll tax obligations Ensuring compliance with the SCHADS Award and relevant legislation Managing accounts payable and receivable functions Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation Supporting timely and accurate financial reporting Liaising with directors, leadership teams, and stakeholders across business entities Collaborating with internal teams to resolve invoice issues and improve processes Ensuring financial documentation remains accurate, compliant, and audit-ready About You We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and passionate about maintaining financial integrity. You will ideally have: Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance administration Experience with SCHADS Award interpretation Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Confidence using MYOB and Deputy (essential) Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across teams A proactive, solutions-focused approach Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team Why Join Kids Out West?
