About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimisation of enterprise‑wide data architecture across core energy domains.
This role is critical to establishing a single source of truth across operational, asset, and customer data, while supporting regulatory obligations, cybersecurity requirements, and advanced analytics use cases. You will operate at an enterprise level, shaping data architecture strategy and working closely with business, technology, and external partners to deliver lasting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligned to business priorities and regulatory requirements
* Lead the integration of legacy systems and data silos into a cohesive, enterprise‑wide data platform
* Architect scalable, secure cloud‑native data solutions, leveraging Azure and associated services
* Provide architectural leadership across SAP platforms, including S/4HANA, IS‑U, and SAP BTP
* Implement and govern data governance frameworks, including metadata management, master data quality, and data lineage
* Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations, data security, and cybersecurity standards
* Enable advanced use cases including predictive analytics, asset performance modelling, and situational intelligence across grid and metering operations
* Engage with senior stakeholders across business units, IT teams, and delivery partners to align data architecture with strategic programs
* Provide architectural assurance and guidance across major initiatives and transformation projects
The Successful Candidate
You will be a senior‑level data architecture professional with strong experience operating in complex, regulated environments.
Key skills and experience include:
* Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect (or similar) within utilities or regulated industries
* Strong expertise across SAP data landscapes, particularly S/4HANA, SAP IS‑U, and SAP BTP
* Hands‑on experience architecting enterprise solutions on Azure
* Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and master data health monitoring
* Familiarity with energy sector data flows, including metering, billing, asset management, and operational systems
* Experience working within regulatory compliance frameworks and cybersecurity requirements
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to operate at executive and delivery levels
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication capabilities
Qualifications & Certifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline
* TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification (preferred)
* Experience within the utilities or energy sector is highly desirable
