Your opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Service Locator to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in underground utility detection and radar technology who are seeking career growth and the opportunity to work on exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain GPR equipment (e.g., IDS, Mala, Vivax Metrotech, Radio Detection).
* Conduct utility locating, subsurface scanning, and mapping activities.
* Perform DBYD and Telstra accredited locating tasks.
* Analyse radar data to identify subsurface utilities and structures.
* Interpret and produce detailed site reports, including service drawings and plans.
* Collaborate with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
* Mentor and train less experienced team members in GPR and utility detection techniques.
Essential Skills and Attributes
* Proven experience in ground-penetrating radar technology and utility locating techniques.
* Knowledge of underground utilities and subsurface infrastructure.
* Ability to use vacuum excavation trucks and trailers.
* Proficiency in reporting and data management using digital tools (e.g., iPads, laptops).
* Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
* RIICCM202E: Identify, locate, and protect underground services.
* NWPNET029: Identify, locate, and protect utilities using GPR.
* DBYD and Telstra accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
