Job Title: Health Safety Specialist
This role is a key component of our organisation's overall approach to ensuring the health and safety of employees and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and supporting the organisation's Safety Management System.
* Deliver and support the Safety Management System, including auditing, programs, document control, incident management, investigations, compliance and reporting.
* Maintain systems and utilise technology to achieve efficiencies and effectively use these systems, providing training to end-users and reviewing existing processes and procedures as needed.
* Assist with workers compensation insurance system and processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data input and records management in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
* Promote a learning culture within the organisation through facilitating safety compliance training and ensuring employee adherence to workplace health and safety legislation.
* Maintain Council's learning and training management system, ensuring training and development data and documentation is accurate and accessible for users.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives and maximise utilisation of resources.
* Champion a positive safety culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for employees and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans, and any other documentation required.
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety/Business/Training and Assessment or equivalent, along with 3 years' experience in a related environment. A Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) and Class C Driver Licence are also necessary requirements.
