A temporary opportunity as a OO5 Ranger (Health Checks) with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service's Central Region is on offer.
Work throughout the central section of Queensland, from desert to coastal landscapes. Coordinate the Region's health check monitoring program. Assess scientific and education permits. Help develop monitoring and research strategies for our park and forest estate.

A temporary OO5 Ranger (Health Checks) position is available in our Technical Support team. You will coordinate the Central Region health check program, lead the assessment of applications for scientific and educational permits and assist the Regional Planner with the development and drafting of monitoring and research strategies.
You will report directly to and support the Regional Planner with planning, monitoring and reporting on the condition and trend of natural, cultural and visitor values for Central Region's protected area and forest estate.
Depending on the project, you may lead a team, be part of a team or work alone. From time to time, you will be required to travel throughout the Region, including overnight stays.
You must be able to work safely and effectively in a field environment, including in remote locations. A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required.

- Team leadership experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with others – to plan and deliver annual work programs and projects
- Administrative skills – for compiling reports, maintaining records and using computer systems and applications
- Strong analytical and reporting writing skills
- Well‑developed communication skills
- A willingness to support and promote the interest of First Nations people
You do not require tertiary qualifications to undertake this position, however a Certificate in Conservation and Land Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

You must hold a current unrestricted manual driver's licence.
