About the Role Queensland Rail is seeking a forward-thinking Rollingstock Strategy Coordinator to join our Rollingstock Asset Management team. As a Rollingstock Strategy Coordinator, you’ll be embedded within a high-performing team responsible for the long-term planning, performance, and optimisation of Queensland Rail’s SEQ Passenger rollingstock assets. You’ll lead the strategic planning, optimisation, and lifecycle management of rollingstock assets to ensure safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and long‑term operational performance. You will work collaboratively with our Rollingstock Projects, Engineering and Maintenance teams to develop medium to long term strategies ensuring our rollingstock is efficiently and effectively maintained to agreed and required standards and performance. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain long‑term rollingstock asset strategies, including lifecycle planning, renewal forecasting, and fleet optimisation. Develop strategic assessments for major asset decisions such as refurbishment programs, technology upgrades, and end‑of‑life planning. Develop capital planning by preparing cost‑benefit analyses, and investment recommendations. Coordinate asset performance reviews, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across the fleet. Stakeholder relationship management and development of rollingstock investment plans that align assets with current and future operational needs What We’re Looking For Strong background in engineering, asset management, or rail/heavy industries/defence. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, lifecycle management, or fleet optimisation. Ability to interpret technical data, performance metrics, and risk assessments to inform strategic decisions. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non‑technical teams. Proficiency in asset management systems, data analytics tools, and reporting platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high‑quality strategic documents and business cases. Understanding of relevant rail safety legislation, standards, and asset management frameworks. Experience working in a complex operational environment with competing priorities. Remuneration and location Permanent role based in Brisbane – Bowen Hills Rollingstock Maintenance Depot (Mayne) the annual base salary range is $160,991 - $172,661 12.75% Superannuation based on a 76-hour fortnight.
