Champion Data has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Product Manager to join our team!
The Product Manager oversees product development, collaborates with stakeholders to define strategy, and sets direction and goals. They create product roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives and ensure successful outcomes. The Product Manager leads discovery by identifying user needs, gathering requirements, and validating solutions. They also deliver clear user stories to the development team to maintain alignment with product goals.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
* Ensure there is buy in from stakeholders on all product decisions.
* Facilitate goal setting and desired outcomes with stakeholders.
* Delivering progress and reports on goals and desired outcomes.
Product Strategy and Vision
* Communicate the product's vision to stakeholders, development team and organisation.
* Use product metrics and user insights to develop product strategy.
* Develop and track product metrics for measuring and validating product strategy and desired outcomes.
* Research and document the competitors in the industry.
Discovery
* Undertake various types of user research with users to better understand their problems.
* Reduce uncertainty around product strategy by conducting experiments with users.
* Turn the results of research and experiments into epics and features to achieve desired outcomes.
Managing Product Backlog
* Provide well written stories which include acceptance criteria.
* Ensure there is an adequate number of stories prepared for development team to work on.
* Review backlog to ensure order reflects the products priorities and desired outcomes.
* Provide product leadership to product's development team.
* Outline products desired outcomes and deliverables to product's development team.
* Ensure development teams sprint goals align with product's desired outcomes.
* Documenting and communicating products development through release notes and product videos.
* Document and Prioritise issues/bugs for legacy products.
* Work with champion data BAU team on resolving issues with legacy products.
* Manage legacy products as they transition thought the sunset process to end of life.
About You
* 3 – 5 years experience as a product manager working effectively with cross‐functional teams, or in a similar role in the software development industry.
OR
* 10 Years of Industry Experience in sports products software, analytics, customer facing digital or broadcast media.
* Deep understanding and experience with Agile methodologies.
* Experience in sales or marketing is an advantage.
* Hands‐on experience in software development, infrastructure, and web technologies.
* Skilled in developing technical stories to enhance scalability and support architectural planning.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of system components, APIs, integrations, and data structures.
* Ability to think critically about any situation, questioning assumptions, challenging processes, knowing when to use which skill or tool, or even managing your own time to make sure you are balancing the core elements of the job.
* Show empathy, whether it's empathising with our customers or our colleagues.
* Have a developed curiosity to fully understand a problem from all angles, to want to gather information from a diverse range of sources, and to understand how outcomes would have an impact on success.
* Think strategically, beyond the work currently in progress to what comes next and ensuring that all work aligns with company goals, strategy, and vision.
* Provide facilitation to bring together our team and stakeholders to bring out their insights, get everyone on the same page, and drive to decisions.
* Demonstrate leadership by setting a direction and getting everyone to rally around that goal.
* Coach others in becoming product people and leaders.
* Run experiments to test ideas and proposals. Formulating hypotheses, identifying assumptions, and creating/executing plans to test them.
* Conduct user research to collect evidence to better understand our customers.
