About the role
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Male and Female Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centered support to our Male and Female NDIS clients in the Cairns and Mossman/Port Douglas areas. We are seeking a support worker who will build strong rapport and bring consistency. You'll provide disability and social support; helping them live with dignity, independence, and joy.
Please note: These preferences are based on the participant's individual needs, in line with the comfort, support requirements and the participant's right to Choice and Control under the NDIS.
Main responsibilities and activities may include
* Provide a high quality and timely care support to the clients as directed by Home Caring, and in accordance with their care plans.
* Support clients in getting out for social engagement, activities and in attending appointments.
* Provide personal care and daily living (domestic) assistance.
* Assistance with household tasks (may include cleaning, meal preparation).
* Document service activities that support service outcomes.
* Support participant in achieving individual NDIS goals.
* Maintain accurate documentation (including reporting) and shift notes.
* Available for 8-10 hours/week.
Requirements
* Professional experience in the NDIS and/or Aged Care sectors.
* Excellent communication skills, commitment to a person-centred focus and flexibility to support needs based on individual circumstances.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Current First Aid certificate and current CPR certificate.
* Current Drivers Licence & access to a reliable vehicle.
* The right to work in Australia.
